Matthew Holmes (Partner)
Matthew commenced with MurphySchmidt in 1999, accepted a Senior Associateship in 2002 and became a Partner of the Firm in 2006.
Matthew's strong sense of social justice and empathy with the disadvantaged are exemplified by his rapport with the clients and his volunteer activities with the Caxton Community Legal Centre and Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House (QPILCH) Homeless Persons Legal Clinic and the self- represented Litigants Service.
During his 13 years of legal practice, Matthew has developed an in-depth knowledge of the law, enabling him to direct the in-house training program for all professionals at MurphySchmidt. This program guarantees that the practitioners at MurphySchmidt are kept abreast of legislative changes and recent developments in case law.
As a result of his participation in a mentoring program to provide advice and guidance to law students, Matthew was awarded the University of Queensland Law Graduates Association 2008 Mentor of the Year.
