Solicitor - Personal Injuries

The role

The role is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with a genuine interest in personal injuries who is looking to further develop their skills across a broad range of personal injuries litigation, including workers' compensation, motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence, institutional abuse and public liability.

You will be responsible for maintaining a file load, and work under the supervision of a Partner. Independent judgement and initiative are required to plan, prioritise and organise a diverse workload.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post admission experience in the area of personal injuries litigation
  • strong knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth legislation and case law
  • knowledge of and commitment to professional and ethical obligations

Secretary/Administative Assistant - Personal Injuries

Your Role

This role involves providing efficient, high quality administrative support to senior professional staff in the area of Personal Injuries. The position is interesting and diverse and encompasses a wide range of administrative tasks including:

  • Preparing precedent letters and court documents;
  • Preparing briefs for Counsel and trial preparation;
  • Diary Management;
  • Client appointments / Travel arrangements;
  • Handling statutory refunds;
  • Digital dictation and word processing;
  • Photocopying, binding, faxing and scanning;
  • Answering phones and taking messages as required;
  • Ensuring all database information is up to date;
  • Daily file maintenance; and
  • Other administrative duties as required

What You Need

We are looking for:

  • experience in an administrative support role in Personal Injuries
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
  • experience with LawDocs and Open Practice would be beneficial but is not essential
  • ability to work autonomously and within a close-knit team
  • ability to adapt to a fast-paced, busy office environment
  • good time management and organisational skills
  • excellent communication, strong attention to detail and a warm and friendly attitude
  • ability to take initiative and self-manage
  • commitment to service excellence that matches our own and pride in who you work for
